i have never cried so many times while reading a book. i had to take multiple breaks and i think i cried at LEAST 59 times. there were so many things that were perfect about this book that i will never get over. i also have never highlighted so many things in one book. the emotional rollercoaster that i was on. this had so many things that hit home for me and i felt every single emotion. the longing and the heartache that they felt for each other— elsie wrote it so beautifully that i felt it in my soul. friends to lovers has really grown on me recently and i think it’s the idea that both mcs know each other so well to the core and there is no one who knows them in the way that they know each other. they’ve seen the messy parts of you are are still there. sloane was duh a good example of that for jasper. and jasper saw sloane for more than what the other people in her life saw her for. i was completely consumed by this book and by sloane and jaspers story. from the very beginning that had me in tears to the epic epilogue. this book made me fall in love with each of them and their hearts. sloane and jasper are so selfless in each of their own ways to each other and to those around them. and you can feel that. you can feel to deep love that they have for their family, even if they aren’t deserving of that love back. watching them not just love each other as friends but fall in love with each other was so beautiful. elsie knows how to write the perfect combination of sweet/emotional plot and also bringing the spice. which i am here for it jasper!!! the four family aspect of this book hits home for me personally and i definitely think that’s why i was extra emotional while reading. if i learned anything while reading this book is that the REAL MVP is my guy harvey. he is so funny and i was cackling the whole time with him. minus the end where he made me BAWL my eyes out. i loved this story and it’s gonna be an infinity for me and my emotionally fragile heart.infinity stars / three and a half chili pepperstropes:- age gap- small town- runaway bride- hockey romance- forced proximity- grumpy x sunshine- unrequited love / secret pinning- childhood best friends to lovers Powerless: A Small Town Friends to Lovers Romance Online ePUB Kindle download link Oh, oh. Oh my. This book has my whole heart. Wow. It truly gives honour to the friends to lovers trope. One of my most anticipated reads of the year and it did not disappoint. There was just "something" about this book that made it so special that I don’t think I can adequately put it into words. There was a sort of simple magic that Elsie Silver created between the two main characters that made me truly fall in love with them, their insecurities, their friendship and ultimately their love story. This book hit me HARD and I loved every single page of Sloane and Jasper’s love story.The absolutely beautiful and gut wrenching intimacy between Sloane and Jasper is woven throughout this story from the very first page. It’s honest, real and raw. It’s about learning to love yourself and letting people love you in return. They were each others’ building blocks and it was just so beautiful. This also felt like one of Elsie Silver’s angstiest books yet, and the will-they-won’t-they had me forcing myself to go to bed at 3am because I just couldn’t get enough of the almosts between Sloane and Jasper. And when it comes, it’s explosive, with all the fist-bitingly-good dirty talk we’ve come to expect from Elsie’s books. This book is hopeful and about a million other good things, and I can’t even begin to process the depths of my emotions.Elsie Silver answered our prayers with this spectacular cover and the most emotional, tear jerking, sweetest love story. She created absolute magic with this book. It was so heartfelt and vulnerable.
