Lily and Leo fell in love one summer on Lily's family horse farm when Leo came to work. The excursion is extremely remote and out in the middle of nowhere. Lily is extremely surprised to see Leo there with three of his friends. After the first few nights, they realize that there had been a huge miscommunication ten years ago. Leo had called Lily and left a message with her dad, Duke. Lily never received the message..On the fourth day, one of the guys in the group, Terry, steals Lily’s dad's journal from her and goes rogue. He pulls a gun out and tries to keep the journal to follow the treasure map. Leo jumps him and there is a struggle to get the gun back. Everyone tries to help and Trey falls off a cliff. After a LOT of panicking, they decide to follow the treasure map themselves. When one of the guys breaks his foot, it is up to Leo and Lily to find the treasure themselves..This was a cute story, I am just a little over the miscommunication trope right now. While the miscommunication was solved early in the book there was still so much left to read. There was a lot of stuff packed into this story and it felt like it dragged on a little. I wanted to finish it more because I wanted to be done and less to know what happened. I was a little disappointed because it was one of my least favorite Christina Lauren books. However, I will ALWAYS recommend Christina Lauren!. I felt like we could’ve gotten so much more about the actual romance storyline if we were getting candid thoughts from Lily and Leo. Additionally, as this is a second chance romance, I wanted more of the original 5 months L&L spent together before their nearly decade long time apart.Overall this was a really fun and adventure filled read!
